Four of the five people injured in Finglas arson attack have been discharged from hospital

A woman in her 40s is still in hospital being treated for serious injuries.

FOUR OF THE five people who were injured in an arson attack on a home in Finglas, Dublin on Wednesday have been discharged from hospital.

gardaí are continuing to investigate the attack on a house in Creston Avenue.

It’s believed the attack was a case of mistaken identity, as it emerged that the attackers targeted the wrong property.

Some of the occupants of the house were forced to flee through a second-storey window in order to escape the blaze.

Five people were hospitalised following the fire, including a woman in her 40s, a woman in her 20s, two male teenagers and one female teenager.

The woman in her 4os remains in hospital with serious injuries. A garda spokesperson today said that her condition is stable at this time.

The property sustained significant damage in the attack, with burn marks visible on the front of the site.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the arson attack, which took place between midnight and 1 am on 31 December, to come forward.

“Any individuals who may have video footage from the area between those times (including CCTV and dash cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 666 7500, the Garda confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station,” a garda spokesperson said.
